Kristina Barta is a Czech jazz pianist and composer.
Kristina was educated at the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory and then at HAMU under Professor Karel Růžička. Kristina Barta performs solo, together with her sister, jazz singer Martina Barta, and participates in various projects. Her formation won the competition Jazz Fruit 2012, organized by the festival Mladí ladí jazz. Since 2015 she has been performing with her group Kristina Barta Trio in clubs and at jazz festivals. In 2015 she performed at the Bohemia Jazz Fest and won the JazzPrix award. The composition Find Peace of Mind won the award for the best jazz composition of 2016 organized by Osa in cooperation with Bohemia Jazz Fest.
Barta released her first studio recordings in 2011 with her band Kikina B, then released her debut album Ema29 under her artistic name in 2017 with Jan Feč and Marek Urbánek, accompanied by Kryštof Tomeček on guitar, Miroslav Hloucal on trumpet, Karel Růžička Jr. on saxophone, David Friedman on vibraphone and the children's choir of the ZUŠ in Ratibořická Street, where Kristina also works as a teacher.
