Luboš Soukup Quartet

Luboš Soukup (saxophones) will share stage with distinctive Czech musicians: Jiří Levíček (piano), Jaromír Honzák (double bass), and Jakub Švejnar (drums). After musical residencies in Poland and Denmark, Soukup founded his own project with the ambition to cross the borders of traditional jazz and reach a broader audience. The quartet’s music speaks to listeners both within and beyond the jazz world, blending rich European musical influences with modern improvisation and deeply personal compositions. With three albums to date—including Earth featuring Lionel Loueke—two of them were named Best Czech Jazz Album of the Year by a panel of music critics at Czech Jazz Radio.
